Professor Ian Lowe's inspiring talk about Energy for a Sustainable Future
On the 11th of December 2006 Climate Action Newcastle hosted a talk by Emeritus Professor Ian Lowe about energy for a sustainable future at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music. It was an eloquent and inspiring presentation about the need and our ability to quickly move away from our current dangerous fossil fuel dependence and to a sustainable energy supply based on currently available renewable energy technologies.

You can listen to the talk by either downloading an audio file and listening to it later or playing it now.
You can also choose between the MP3 format or OGG Vorbis format; MP3 is an older and hence more popular format, OGG is a newer, higher quality format but doesn't play on some portable music players.
| Listen now | Download for later | |
| High quality for broadband | MP3 / OGG | MP3 / OGG |
| Low quality for dial-up | MP3 / OGG | MP3 / OGG |
If you choose to download the audio file you will need to open it with your favourite audio player, this usually requires simply double clicking on the file. Most people won't need to, but if necessary you can download a free audio playing program called Zinf that will play both these formats here (scroll down for the Windows version). If you choose the listen now option, your audio player will usually give you the option to save the file to your computer so you can listen to it again later. If you have problems using these audio files please contact the web manager: webmanager@climateaction.org.au
