Some News from CAN
1. Forum on Renewable Energy
Just a reminder that Thursday 28th August at 7:30pm is our forum on The Hunter's transition to renewable energy at St Alban's Church Hall in Charlestown. There will be five excellent speakers: Geoff Evans, Bill Mitchell, Peter Droege, Mark Fogarty and Tim Ayres. We expect a fantastic discussion - so come along and be a part of it. The event is co-hosted by Lake Macquarie Climate Action and Climate Action Newcastle. Free entry, all welcome.
2. CAN invites you to attend our 2nd Birthday!!
What: Dinner and drinks (& chats, pool, jukebox…)
When: 6.30 pm, Wednesday 3rd September
Where: The Oriental Kitchen Restaurant at the Bennett Hotel, Corner of Denison and Steel Streets, Hamilton (licensed)
Why: We're awesome and deserve to raise a glass to each other for all our achievements over the past two years since incorporation; AND
The Bennett is across the road from CAN's new meeting place (as of Wednesday 17th September) - Hamilton Public School. A reconnaissance of the meeting venue may be on the cards at some stage during the night.
NB – the restaurant can only seat a limited number of people, so please RSVP to Zoe (zoetiarerogers@gmail.com or 49613571) by THIS SATURDAY 30th August so we can ensure you a spot!
3. New CAN Meeting Venue
Our meeting venue has officially changed! As of 17th September we will meet at Hamilton Public School at the regular time of 6:30pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.
4. New CAN Website
CAN's new website is up and running so if you haven't seen it lately go to www.climateaction.org.au. The website is a great source of information about our events, campaigns, news and how you can get involved.
